What is Resilience?

When a mission-critical deadline is coming up and and your team’s called in sick, do you bend under the pressure, or do you stay late and get the job done?

For some of us, this kind of stress will throw you off and ruin your entire week. But for those of us who are resilient, you’ll perform well in spite of the pressure.

But what does it mean to be resilient?

Most people think that resilient people are hard working, don’t give up, come back time and time again and this is all true. But what we often don’t see is the time they take to recover and recuperate from stressful situations.

Resilience is as much about how well you recover as how well you endure.
